Arnot Health provides diagnostic, ambulatory, secondary and tertiary acute care, as well as rehabilitative and wellness services. Arnot Health is comprised of the Arnot Ogden Medical Center (which includes the Finger Lakes Heart Institute, Falck Cancer Center, Joslin Diabetes Center, Health Center for Women, Maternal and Child Health Center, and the HIV Primary Care Clinic) and Arnot Medical Services.
The Finger Lakes Heart Institute offers a highly skilled staff dedicated to helping achieve or restore patients to the best cardiovascular health possible. Services at the Finger Lakes Heart Institute include: Cardiac Wellness Center for Preventive and Screening Services, Cardiac Risk Reduction Program, Chest Pain Center and Area Trauma Center, Comprehensive Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiology Services, Electrophysiology and Pacing Services, Cardiac Surgical Program, Vascular Surgical Program, Cardiac Rehabilitation Programs, as well as Specialized Counseling Services.
The Falck Cancer Center at Arnot Ogden Medical Center is a unique facility designed to meet the specific needs of cancer patients and families. Services are integrated within the facility and supported by an adjoining inpatient cancer care unit, the center's Cancer Care Team, and a specialized support staff offering each patient and family rehabilitative, nutritional, psychosocial and pastoral care counseling. Support groups, outreach services and affiliation with American Cancer Society and Hospice programs complete the spectrum of care.
The HIV Care Clinic at Arnot Health provides medical care and case management services for people diagnosed as HIV positive in South Central New York and Northern Pennsylvania region. Arnot Health's HIV Care Clinic provides services at two office locations, one in Elmira, NY and the other in Ithaca, NY. The health care team at the HIV Primary Care Clinic has been specially trained to provide excellent, confidential care in the area of HIV/AIDS. Services include: confidential HIV counseling and testing, complete physical examinations for patients, comprehensive medical diagnostic testing services, monitoring and management of health problems associated with HIV/AIDS, medical case management, referrals to medical specialists, new drug trials, and other agencies and organizations that provide HIV/AIDS-related services, social and emotional support services, nutritional assessment and counseling, nutritional programs, as well as financial counseling.
The Joslin Diabetes Center at Arnot Health joins the skills and talents of a team of healthcare professionals who specialize in the treatment of diabetes and is affiliated with the Joslin Diabetes Center at SUNY Health Science Center, Syracuse, the eleventh affiliate of the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston. The Arnot Health team draws from the resources of these distinguished programs to provide comprehensive and effective management of diabetes. Patients set healthcare goals and learn to incorporate proper nutrition, weight control and exercise into everyday activities. The center offers people with diabetes access to experts that coordinate individual and family care.
The Health Center for Women is dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of women at every life stage. The center offers educational, preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic and support services designed to enrich the quality of life among women and families. The Health Center for Women integrates multi-disciplinary clinical care, cutting-edge technology, and education in one patient-friendly, easily accessible location. The mission of the Health Center for Women is to preserve wellness and prevent all types of disease in women of all ages, and to empower women to be active, well-informed participants in their healthcare.
Arnot Health's advanced maternity services deliver more than 1500 babies each year, and are complemented by a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Perinatology Program. Families will also find pediatric care and educational services for families at this regional healthcare facility. Arnot Ogden Medical Center's regional Perinatal program emphasizes the value of education for expectant parents before and after the birth of each new baby. Resources range from traditional prenatal education to very specialized nutritional guidance and prenatal care.

The Elmira Psychiatric Center provides a wide array of Adult and Child Psychiatric Services, both inpatient and community centered. Services are determined by the needs of the diverse rural counties that are served by the Elmira Psychiatric Center. EPC includes a 60 bed Adult, 20 bed Geriatric and 18 bed Child/Adolescent Inpatient Units. Admission to the inpatient level of treatment is usually through a transfer from an acute care hospital or through the County Mental Health Director. The largest part of services are rendered to children and adults in community programs including Day Treatment, clinics, Case Management, Intensive Psychiatric Rehabilitation, 2 Community Residential Services, 100 Family Care Homes and 3 Social Clubs.

Healthy Women Partnership

The YWCA of Elmira and the Twin Tiers is the residence of the Healthy Women Partnership (HWP) Program. This program assists women to receive breast and cervical cancer screening services by providing no cost mammograms and pap testing. Women who have no insurance, or women who have insurance with high deductibles may sign up with the program. There are also women with Medicare who are in the program. Many medical providers of the area participate with this program, so women can have their services done at an office and hospital of their choice. Scheduling of appointments are done at the convenience of the women.
Throughout the year The Healthy Women Partnership organizes health related workshops and screenings, which are held at the YWCA.
EncorePlus is a support/education program for women diagnosed with breast cancer. This group meets at the YWCA on a monthly basis.

The caring Family Support staff aids households in Chemung County that have a family member who is developmentally disabled and living at home. The program promotes the physical and social well-being, education, and financial stability of individuals who have developmental disabilities by assisting them and their families in obtaining support through existing community resources and services.
The Economic Opportunity Program manages the Family Support Program with funding provided by the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (OMRDD). The program office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm and is located at the Ernie Davis Family Center, next door to the Ernie Davis Community Center at Baldwin and Fifth Street.
The Family Support Program offers:
The Family Advocate acts as a conduit for individuals who are without a Service Coordinator, and transitions the individual to a Service Coordinator. The Family Advocate also assists individuals in pursuing OMRDD eligibility status by coordinating the paperwork process. (eligibility to receive services funded by the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities which is called a “Notice of Decision”)
The Family Advocate helps with disability-related costs, services, and supplies. These requests are processed for approval at monthly meetings with the Family Reimbursement Review Committee.
The Family Advocate offers recreational opportunities throughout the community for individuals and families to enjoy meaningful interactions.

Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council of Chemung County

ADACCC provides information, education and referrals about alcohol and drug addiction. The ADACCC does not provide treatment but it does refer individuals to treatment facilities.
For drug counseling and rehabilitation assistance, contact the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council of Chemung County (ADACCC) to get information about treatment, counseling, and other services available in Chemung County. Free screenings are available for anyone who is looking for help and family members are encouraged to call. Staff members are available to provide assistance over the phone. You can also walk into their offices located on the corner of Market and Lake Street in Downtown Elmira. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Counseling services are available in many schools for children who are dealing with alcohol and drug abuse issues at home.
For parents who would like to know more about how to talk to their children about alcohol and drugs, the Council has helpful brochures and booklets which are available at no charge.

The Southern Tier Pregnancy Resource Center offers free and confidential services such as pregnancy tests and ultrasounds for test-positive clients. The Center also provides option counseling and educational information on pregnancy, adoption and abortion as well as abstinence-only until marriage education.
