The Elmira-Corning Regional Airport is located in the nearby Town of Big Flats, just off Exit 50 from Interstate 86/Route 17. Service is provided by US Airways, Northwest Airlink, and Continental Express. These carriers provide service from Elmira-Corning Regional Airport to major international hubs such as Pittsburgh and Detroit.
The Airport provides many services found at major airports including rental cars, an ATM (operated by Chemung Canal Trust Company), restaurant, business center and conference room, and taxi service.

Chemung County Transit also provides service from the Transportation Center in Downtown Elmira to the Airport via the Grand Central Bus (leaving every 30 minutes past the hour) or the Mall Express Bus (leaving every hour on the hour) with a transfer at the Arnot Mall to the Corning/Bath bus to the Airport.

The Chemung County Transit System operates a bus line and Transportation Center for local and regional transportation needs. The local bus system provides service throughout Elmira and to nearby attractions such as Consumer Square, Arnot Mall, Miniers Plaza, the Elmira-Corning Regional Airport, Airport Corporate Park, Corning Community College Branch Campus in Big Flats,  Hanover Square, Grand Central Plaza, and shops along Route 14 in Elmira Heights. The local bus system also provides regional service to Ithaca, Cornell University, Watkins Glen, Montour Falls, and more.
The one way fare is $1.00 for local services. Fares on regional routes range from $2.00 to $4.00. A reduced fare of $.50 is offered at all times on all local routes to senior citizens and disabled persons. Reduced fares on regional routes are one-half the full fare. Monthly passes are sold for $36 for local services and $48 for regional services.

 Rail Service to and from Elmira
The nearest passenger rail station is in Syracuse at the William F. Walsh Regional Transportation Center. This location serves as a train and bus station, allowing for convenient transfer from a passenger train to a bus bound for the Elmira Transportation Center. Rail Service is provided by Amtrak.
