Here are a few helpful hints about using forms in Acrobat Reader
To adjust the view of the page, use the Magnify+ or Magnify- functions on the toolbar in Acrobat Reader to increase or decrease the size of the form. You can also select "Fit Width" from the view menu.

To fill in the text, you can hover your mouse over a field and a small box will appear that says "Click here to type". Click your mouse and type in the requested information. You can also move from field to field using the TAB key on your keyboard. To check a checkbox, press the left mouse button over the checkbox that you wish to select. A small box will appear that says "Click here to select box". Click it again to uncheck the box.

There are some fields that require signatures or seals that must be completed AFTER the application is printed.
Check all forms for mistakes before printing.
To print, click the gold print button on the first or last page of the application or click the print button on the Acrobat toolbar.

After printing, use the Application Checklist or Instructions to attach all required documents, sign your name in the appropriate locations, and notarize the pages which require the signature of a notary.
If you wish to clear all fields and start again, press the Reset button on the first or last page of the application.
Double check all fields for mistakes and omissions and mail or bring your application and permit fees to the appropriate office in the letterhead of each application.
Permit fees must be paid before a permit can be issued. Additional fees may be required for inspections, certificates, or other required permits during the project. Fees may be paid by cash, money order, or check. Make checks out to City of Elmira. Do not send cash through mail.
Your permit will be mailed to you if you mail in your application If there are problems with your application or payment, you will be contacted before you will receive your permit.
If you drop off your application, it will be processed and you should receive your permit right away if there are no problems with your application.
If you have problems completing the applications, please do not hesitate to call Inspection Services or the Department of Public Services.
