The Commission makes decisions concerning the selection, acquisition and display of public art/activity (permanent and impermanent) by reviewing all proposals for the exhibition/presence of public art in the city's public spaces, buildings, facilities and infrastructure (interior/exterior). The Commission evaluates/selects projects, activities, acquisitions and donations of public art that meet the criteria and guidelines established by the Commission.
*Any application/proposal to the Public Art Commission must be received by 4:30pm on the Thursday directly prior to the public meetings, which are held on the fourth Tuesday of the month.*
Adopt a Traffic Signal Box - Application
Regular Meetings of the Elmira Public Art Commission occur when there is business to conduct at the Elmira City Hall, 317 E. Church Street. Meetings are held in the 2nd Floor Courtroom on the 4th Tuesday from 4:00 - 5:00pm.
Members of the Elmira Public Art Commission are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council.
