The City of Elmira maintains a compost facility at its Public Works site.
The Elmira Compost facility is open Tuesday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm and Saturday’s 8:00am-12:00pm and closed Sundays’ and Mondays’.
Information for when the compost facility is open:
Only organic material (earth grown) leaves, brush, branches etc., can be dropped at the site free of charge. City residents only. No contractors.
Please note that the facility is monitored by cameras. Illegal dumping will be prosecuted.
Compost facility may be closed during certain times for maintenance.
